In a fight for all, are big wins too small? Or is a win a win, a place we begin? A win, huge or small, in this fight for all. It’s once we dive-in, our resistance within. Stopping the flood, building the dam. Building a place of safe, dry land. Holding it back, stopping the scam. Giving a space, it’s safe, my hand. In this fight for all, is a big win too small? Is a big win a win, progressing therein? A win so tall, gives a hope for all. It’s once we step-in, a progressing win. Stopping the flood, building the dam. Building a place of safe, dry land. Holding it back, stopping the scam. Giving a space, it’s safe, my hand. In our fight for all, is a big win our call? A win herein, conquering battles within. This big win’s not small, jumpstarts the snowball. It’s once we charge-in, let progression begin. Stopping the flood, building the dam. Building a place of safe, dry land. Holding it back, stopping the scam. Giving a space, it’s safe, my hand. In the fight for all, it is their downfall. A win is a win, letting the war rage-in! A win sustains it all, it’s our clarion call. It’s once we stand-in, so we’ll forever win. Stopping the flood, building the dam. Building a place of safe, dry land. Holding it back, stopping the scam. Giving a space, it’s safe, my hand. In a fight for all, a big win’s not small. A win to begin, restore lives for our kin! A huge win for all, that snowball does fall. It’s once we dive-in, with a big win.
Why big win?
Building on the small win that we got with saving tens of thousands of jobs within the VA. This may end up being a small win in the long run, but it’s a big win to me. The reporting Fred Wellman did yesterday highlights this win and I want to make sure we continue to expand those wins to prevent even further cuts.
The work that Fred Wellman, Kristofer Goldsmith, and so many more are doing in these areas is hugely important. It’s going to take a lot of pressure to prevent it too, especially since we are competing against attacks on the National Labor Relations Board from companies like Amazon, DOGE driven conspiracy theories and fake efficiency, Doug Collins just existing, defunding of essential services to somewhat pay for ICE, and the recent ruling by SCOTUS to allow federal firings to continue. There are attacks on every sector of our economic and social systems which don’t always feel connected, but are.
So, why is this a big win? Well, it means we have providers still at the VA. We have staff, we have psychologists, we have nurses, we have janitors, we have administrators, we have some of who we need—we aren’t losing all of them. So for someone who uses the VA, and has been warned that there’s a good chance I may never get a new provider—stopping up the river and damming it off is a great start. I provides hope and shows people that standing up and (always peacefully and non-violently) fighting for our rights.
