Yes, Nick "locker room talk" is BS and solely reserved for men. It's reinforcement of the misogynistic silent agreement.

Also, a benefit (to society) and to all is letting that subway creep know that he is not omnipotent and his behavior is unacceptable.

I absolutely love the fact that these conversations on intelligent masculinity are happening. I can't watch all of this, but I do want to say thanks. Intelligently masculine men are a crucial part of a harmonious trajectory for humanity.

Will, I am so grateful to you for stepping up for the woman on the subway, and all of the people you have helped in that way. ❤️

Thanks to Nick and your guests in talking about anti-racism, mysogony, anti-trans and homophobia here. My question is: why does our culture hold up examples of positive masculinity (as well as other positive role models)? We are inundated with negative examples, starting with Trump and his ilk. It seems that too often many people like yourself and your guests are playing D-ball way too often. Let’s get off our heels and play offense!

We already are playing offense through hosting conversations like this regularly and mentoring young boys and men as discussed in the talk. Our culture does not hold up examples of positive masculinity because platforming negative examples reinforces capitalism, patriarchy, white supremacy, transphobia, and homophobia. The profit, social, and power incentives for upholding negative examples of masculinity are extensive. That is why it “seems” that people like myself and Nick are playing defense. If you have an idea of spreading the message and actions farther and wider in this type of toxic environment, I am sure we are both interested in hearing about it.

Thank you Will for your response. I do appreciate your and Nick’s stories and efforts;I’m not intending to criticize your efforts. Maybe this is another topic for future shows. Where are today’s role models? Where are today’s Muhammad Ali’s/ Malcolm X’s/Huey Newton’s? Maybe a topic for a future show? You guys are doing great! Keep up the good work!

No problem, Richard. I'll also give you some thoughts about your potential topic, too. It sounds like you're wondering more about a mascot of a revolution than the revolution itself. Today's heroes for human rights will not take the form of those from decades past. There are and will always be champions, but looking for them is not how we win the fight against the toxic environment we've inherited and those who perpetuate the smog.

At some point we all need to look around and realize today's world is radically different than our past world in material ways. The world continues to change rapidly and drastically, which is what has opened the door for you and I to even be communicating about this as strangers.

As someone who has realized many of the implications of this age of acceleration, I choose to confidently step forward into the future rather than to try to recreate a constructed past. I believe in this day and age each and every individual boy and man must endeavor to become an individual and collective champion for human and civil rights against tyrannical oppressive systems. We must all fight for our lives and our hearts personally, individually, and communally.

Many have already answered the call. Like Nick and I, they have looked in the mirror, made changes, and turned back towards the world as men, confident in their values and ready to speak truth to power. There are and will be many more, as it ever was.

They are out there, Richard, gaining steam each and every day. They are all around us waiting to be recognized and empowered. We must become our own champions. We must support the champions that exist before our very eyes within our own slice of the universe. We must go beyond that slice when we gain the capacity and willpower to do so. A collective effort of this nature is how we cleanse the environment. I hope you'll join us.
