Nick the way you let your two women co-hosts hold the floor impresses me all over again. You are a superb feminist and I - and my husband - admire you immensely.

Euthanasia. I have a Canadian friend whose cancer-ridden mother went to Switzerland with her whole family for a ceremony followed by her death by an appointed doctor. All legal. All beautiful.

Hi Sarah! In which province is this? Because MAID is legal in Canada now.

In Québec, Quebec's legislation allows for advance requests for MAID for people with serious and incurable illnesses, such as Alzheimer's. This differs from the federal framework, which does not permit advance requests. (info found on internet)

The dehumanisation of homeless ...and as Stephanie says...where was the outrage? This man should be the subject of criminal proceedings. It is hate speech of the most odious type.

Yes I get the burning pain. When mine flares, I get burning, then copious sweating, then chills, then finally sweating when I know the flare is over.

Nick am so happy to listen in. I've been suffering chronic and severe pain for the last 5 months since neck surgery, which was successful in itself but triggered psychogenic pain which is very real, very severe at times, never stops completely, but its origins are psychological not physical. And triggered by trauma accumulated over a lifetime. I'm also an empath which means I not only have my own trauma but also those of people i've had around me plus the world's current trauma. Not good. So morphine hasn't worked and am currently weaning off it. The only meds that work are seratonin-rich anti-depressants and anxiolytics though they only make the pain bearable. I have an incredibly helpful GP and am also having acupuncture and especially EMDR therapy. That you can only have once fortnightly which is really slow, as you have to go through all the trauma before you get the hypnotherapy which is the holy grail. OMG this is so wonderful to hear from your fellow speakers and yourself. Thank you, as ever, Nick.
