In a fight for all, is any win too small? Or is a win a win, a place we begin? A win big or small, in this fight for all. It’s where we begin, a resistance within. In this fight for all, is no win too small? Is a win a win, a sustaining linchpin? A win so small, gives a hope for all. It’s where we step-in, a sustaining win. In our fight for all, is it our call? A win therein, let the battle begin! This win’s not small, starts the snowball. It’s where we charge-in, becomes a big win. In the fight for all, is it their downfall? A win is a win, let the war begin! A win starts it all, it’s a clarion call. It’s where we stand-in, so we forever win. In a fight for all, no win is small. A win to begin, saving lives of our kin! A big win for all, that snowball does fall. It’s where we begin, with a small win.
Why small win?
This poem is a response to the small win that Fred Wellman highlights in one of his most recent pieces.
This one is really important to me. The efforts that Fred Wellman, Kristofer Goldsmith, The Ken Harbaugh Show, and more are doing to advocate and organize around these issues is lifesaving.
I’m a disabled veteran who relies on the services the VA provides. I’ve been without a primary provider for a few months now and it’s a direct result of the threats and cuts made by DOGE, Doug Collins, and the asshats in the Republican Party. They use veterans as props and then cut the rug out from under us; however, we must highlight the wins. These little wins become more than just little. These little wins become the thing that turns the tide and win us sustained progress.
Stay in this together friends, we win together and we celebrate. Then we get back on the road and do it again!

Some are asking what they can do. Some already are doing the doing.
Not as part of a movement. Not waiting for orders.
They’re acting—quietly, deliberately—because they still believe there’s a version of America worth the risk.
We call them Outriders.
And if this resonates, maybe you are one too.

This is a big win.
